The mission of The Bump Free Shave Company is to become the leading provider of shaving education to adult African-American males; educating them on the techniques that will significantly reduce or eliminate pseudofollicutis barbae (PFB), shaving bumps, as well as the various products and methods of shaving available to them.
Approximately 80% of all black men that shave on a regular basis experience irritation in the form of “shaving bumps.” With PFB, hairs, instead of growing outward completely, curve back down toward the skin and actually re-penetrate the skin. This re-penetration of the hair results in an infection in the area of re-penetration in most cases, and at the very least will cause an itchy irritation to the shaver. This same condition can also occur when shaving your head.
